Piano | Guitar | Ukulele | Violin | Drums
Jake is a local musician and educator out of Decatur, Georgia. He began playing music at the age of 7 when he began piano lessons, but it was when he received his first guitar at age 15 that he dove head-first into musical studies. At age 17, Jake started a guitar club at his high school, helping other students learn basic guitar skills in an open and judgement-free setting. Jake continued playing throughout high school, and after graduation, went to Georgia College and State University to study music therapy. Once there, Jake trained for nearly 5 years under classical guitarist, Dr. Sydney “Dusty” Woodruff, and studied teaching and therapy techniques with a wide variety of clients. Jake has organized and performed in a variety of musical acts since 2012, and you can find him performing a wide variety of music every week around the Atlanta area. Although passionate about his own endeavors, Jake truly loves bringing his easy-going, dynamic teaching style to all his students. Each of Jake’s students is privy to a wide variety of music styles and techniques, ear training, music theory knowledge and a custom-tailored learning experience based on the student’s personality, preferences and practice schedule. Fun Fact: His first concert ever was seeing the band, Panic at the Disco!
