Andrew Ford’s musical journey began at 8 years old with piano lessons, and he quickly expanded his skills to drums, guitar, and bass, inspired by his rock-and-roll heroes. A seasoned performer, Andrew has toured as the drummer for Athens-based Underground Springhouse and currently plays with Kobanova and The Avery Deakins Band. He’s also jammed with Cindy Wilson of The B-52s on keyboards. Andrew earned his music degree from the University of Georgia in 2022 and now teaches at Highland Music Studio in Atlanta. His teaching style is all about making music fun and accessible, focusing on rhythm (his drummer bias shows!) and using music theory in a way that doesn’t overwhelm. His favorite moment? When a student nails something they thought was impossible. Andrew believes everyone can exceed their own expectations, and he’s there to guide them along the way! Fun fact: Andrew originally joined his high school orchestra instead of the concert band because he heard they were going to be learning music from Star Wars that semester!
